Q. How much will this cost?
A. There will be one time charge of $49.90 for each sports match made. That fee will be split by both parties ($24.95). Or one party can pay the entire fee, no problems there. Feeling lucky? Prepay your half of the matching fee for only $11.95 (save over 50%). There will be no monthly/yearly recurring charges at all. Get matched once, all future matches are half off.
SUMMER SPECIAL: Sign up for free, as always, and for this summer (through August 31), all matching fees will be waived! No charges at all this summer!
Q. Will the matches be guaranteed?
A. Unfortunately matches cannot be guaranteed. The more popular the area you would be familiar with, and if you request a similar (popular) area, there will be more match opportunities. If you are in a remote area (your know who you are!) and request an equally remote area, chances are good, no matches. But you are joining the database for free, so there is no harm in at least giving it a try.
Q. Why should I sign up? I can just go to _____ (insert a big city here) and save my money.
A. Hey, we understand that completely! We’ve made plenty of trips without knowing anyone there……and sat behind a pole at a baseball game in Chicago, ate pregame in a “tourist trap” out in LA, and stayed on the bad side of town back East. You can really maximize your trip by getting matched with someone local in the area.
Q. What incentive do you have to match me?
A. Great question! We want happy, satisfied customers here. We want you to match with another sports fan across the nation, and go to awesome sporting events with each other. We hope our satisfied customers tell others (word of mouth, social media), leading to a tremendous database of sports fans, with lots of match opportunities for everyone.
Q. Okay, what will happen when I get a match?
A. After the matching fee is paid, that will be completely up to you two. We just introduce the sports fans, who have a common interest. We would recommend emails, sharing social media accounts, phone calls, trying to line up your respective events. It could be a simple enough as giving some pointers before the big game, and meeting there. Or, after meeting in person, even more.
Q. Will you get me tickets to the big game?
A. Sorry, this is something we can’t do. We are not ticket brokers. We will just match you up with fellow sports fan; if you go to events “with” each other, in your own stadiums/venues, you two will need to work out those details together.
